The Import and export screen downloads your Fleet records and loads assets and meter readings from a CSV file. Every imported row is checked first.
Before you start #
- Open Fleet, then Import and export. The screen opens for the owner, manager, dispatcher and advisor roles.
- Export works with or without the Fleet module. Import needs the Fleet module and a current license. Without them the screen says so.
- Prepare a CSV whose first line holds the column names.
Steps #
- Under Export, choose Records: Assets, Meter readings, Fuel fills, Expenses, Documents or Advances.
- Choose the Format, CSV or JSON, and select Download. The screen reports "Downloaded {n} rows."
- Under Import, choose Records: Assets or Meter readings.
- Choose a CSV file, or paste the text into or paste the CSV text.
- Select Check and import. When every row passes, the screen reports the number imported and how many readings need a look.
- When a row has a problem, nothing is imported. The screen lists the problem rows as "Row {row}: {error}", up to 50 of them. Fix the file and send it again.
Technical details
- Export reads
GET /fleet/export/:set. Import posts the CSV text to/fleet/import/:set. - Import is all or nothing.
If something goes wrong #
- "Choose a file or paste CSV text first." Add the CSV.
- "Import needs the Fleet module and a current license." See fleet-without-the-license.
- "The server could not be reached. Check the connection and try again."
