The fine print, in plain English
Complimentary concept terms
We design concepts at no cost because we’d rather show you than tell you. Here’s exactly what that means.
No cost, no obligation
Your concepts are complimentary. Submitting a brief doesn’t commit you to anything, and you can stop at any point without paying or explaining.
What you receive
Up to 3 website concepts, each with homepage + up to 2 key inner pages per concept, viewable on your phone, tablet and computer. Concepts are previews for your review, not finished websites.
Previews expire
Concept previews are private (they’re hidden from search engines) and stay online for 30 days. After that they’re taken down unless you’ve chosen to go ahead.
Who owns what
- Your content stays yours. Your logo, photos, text and anything else you supply always belong to you.
- Unselected concepts stay with the studio. We keep the rights to concepts you don’t choose, and won’t use your content in them anywhere else.
- Your chosen design becomes yours once it’s finalized and paid for.
If you choose to go ahead
If you’d like to go ahead with a concept, we’ll agree the scope and fee with you before any work begins. Finalizing includes up to three rounds of revisions. Changes beyond those rounds, or new pages and features, are quoted first, and you approve each quote before any work starts.
Already have a domain and hosting, just one of them, or neither yet? Either way, we’ll set them up and keep them running smoothly. Domains are always registered in your name.
Fair use
We take on a very limited number of concept projects at a time, so every one gets our full attention. That means we may schedule your brief for a little later, or politely decline one that isn’t a good fit.
