Checked against Pop Dispatch 0.1.0

The saved copy of your screens and the queue of waiting changes are stored in one encrypted file. You will be able to find it and know how it is protected.

Where it is #

The file is replica.db in ~/Library/Application Support/Pop Street Dispatch. It holds nothing in readable form.

How it is protected #

  1. The file is encrypted with a key made on first start. The key is kept in your login Keychain on this Mac and never leaves it.
  2. Your sign-in token is also kept in the Keychain, readable after the first unlock of this Mac.
  3. Each person's copies and queue are kept apart, so another account on the same Mac sees none of them.

If the key is lost #

If the Keychain item is removed, the app cannot open the saved copy. Remove replica.db from the folder, then open the app and sign in. The app makes a new copy from the server. Changes that were still waiting in the old queue are lost, so send waiting changes before you remove the file.
