Settings holds the connection, the language and the list of changes waiting to be sent. Open it with Command-comma or from the sidebar.
Steps #
- Under Connection, change the server address and press Return. Choose Send waiting changes to send the queue now.
- Under Language, choose English or Hindi.
- Under Changes waiting to be sent, read each waiting item. A change the server refused shows the reason in plain words and stays here until you choose Discard.
- Under Updates, read the version, switch the daily check for updates on or off and choose Check for updates to look now. See "Installing Pop Dispatch on a Mac".
- Under Business address, an owner or manager types the business address, phone and Public web address. The address and phone print in the header of tow tickets, release forms, invoices and statements. Estimate and payment links start with the web address, which starts with https.
- Under Payments, an owner saves the business's own Stripe secret key. See "Payments on the Mac".
- Under Customer languages, switch Spanish, Punjabi, Gujarati, Hindi or Arabic on for the pages, emails and printed documents your customers read, then choose a Default language and Save. English is always on. Each language shows whether a native speaker has checked it. Ask someone who speaks the language to read the tracking page, the estimate page, the pay page and the printed documents before you switch it on. Only an owner or manager saves. See "Customer languages".
- Under Compliance rules, choose the Rule set and Save. Pennsylvania adds its dates, checklists and notice templates to yard and private property records. Open Dates this rule set counts and Sources to read each rule with its citation. Under Notice templates, choose Edit wording. The editor lists every required merge field and marks each as it appears or goes missing, and Save stays greyed until all are present. Choosing Sample numbers goes back to your own lien schedule. See "The Pennsylvania rule set" and "Pennsylvania notice templates".
- Under Mail server and public address, an owner or manager types the mail server that sends taxi receipts and booking messages: server, port, From address, user name and password. The password is stored and never shown; leave it empty to keep the one stored. The section also shows the address riders book at, which follows the Public web address under Business address (it must start with https and have no path).
- Under Account, choose Sign out to end this session. Choose Take the tour to see the steps of the screen you were on.
If something goes wrong #
- A language or rule set will not save: saving needs the server and waits while this Mac is offline. A message says so.
- Compliance rules show a choice and no dates: the dates and templates show for the owner, manager, advisor and dispatcher roles.
- A refused change: read the reason, fix the cause in the web console or on the screen, and enter the change again. A refused change is never sent a second time.
