Connecting a Shopify store to Pop Street Commerce

Shopify is the easiest marketplace to connect: a private app on your own store, with no review. Here is what to prepare and what happens.

Updated Oct 25, 2026

Shopify is the easiest connection. You create a private app on your own store, which needs no review by Shopify, and Pop Street Commerce then keeps products, stock and orders in step.

Where it stands: the Shopify connection is built and works in sample mode. The common product paths match Shopify's published reference. Unusual product shapes are less tested, and it has not yet run against a live store, so make your first publish a test.

What you need

  1. A Shopify store. A development store works for practice.
  2. A custom app on your store. We set it up with you in about ten minutes. It asks for the right to manage products, inventory and fulfilment, and to read orders and locations. You tap Allow once.
  3. Your store address, which ends in myshopify.com.
  4. The location that holds your stock. Shopify counts stock per location. Find it in Shopify under Settings, then Locations.
  5. Access to customer data for the app, so buyer names and addresses show on orders. Request it in the app's settings. Shopify may ask for approval first.

What Pop Street Commerce does

  • Products. Creates or updates a product with photos, sizes, colours and prices. Publishing again updates the same product.
  • Stock. Sets the available quantity at your location, safely, so a retry never counts twice.
  • Prices. Updates them when a price rule changes.
  • Orders. Brings in changed orders every few minutes.
  • Tracking. Sends the carrier and number back, and Shopify emails the customer.

Good to know

If the location on the channel page is not the one that holds your stock, counts will look right in Pop Street Commerce and wrong in Shopify. Check it once with a test product.

Not connected yet?

Download the Shopify product file from the channel page and use Shopify's own product importer.

Common messages

  • Access denied on orders. The app does not have customer data access yet. Request it in the app's settings.
  • Stock does not change. Wrong location number, or the product is not stocked at that location. Correct it and push again.
  • Tracking not sent. The order has no label yet. Make the label, mark it shipped and press Try again.
