Checked against Pop Dispatch 0.1.0

The Your key step activates the key from your email. Pop Dispatch checks the key with thepopstreet.com and keeps a signed license file on this computer. After activation, the step shows your plan, the number of devices allowed, the modules in your plan, and the name the license is issued to.

Before you start #

Have the key from your email ready. It looks like PSDP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. A trial key needs this computer to be online while it activates.

Steps #

The Your key step with the Key box filled in and the Activate key button below it.
Paste the key, then select Activate key.
The Your key step after activation, showing the Key activated panel with the plan, customer, devices allowed and modules, then the Continue and Use a different key buttons.
The result of a trial key, using demo data.
  1. In the Key box, paste or type the key. You do not need to type the dashes. They are added as you type.
  2. Select Activate key.
  3. Read the result under "Key activated":
    • Plan shows the plan name.
    • Devices allowed shows how many devices the plan allows.
    • Modules in your plan lists the parts of Pop Dispatch the plan includes.
    • Licensed to shows the customer name on the license.
    • For a trial, the line reads "Trial ends on" followed by the end date. For a paid license, it reads "License runs to" followed by the end date. A license with no end date says "This license has no end date".
  4. Select Continue to go to Your business.
  5. To use a different key, select Use a different key, then paste the new key and select Activate key again.
Technical details
  • The office server asks thepopstreet.com to check the key. The result is saved as a signed license file. The app checks the signature before it uses the file.
  • Only the last four characters of a key are ever shown again, for example on the license screen in Settings.
  • In a build where license checks are switched off, the step says so, and no key is needed.
  • The license file also gives the trial end date. That date is the one shown after "Trial ends on".

If something goes wrong #

  • Offline. Trial keys need this computer to be online. Connect the computer to the internet, then select Activate key again.
  • Key not right. The key was typed or pasted wrongly. Check each group of four characters against your email.
  • Key already used. Either the trial was already used on this computer, or the key is already on as many computers as it allows. Contact your supplier if you need help deciding which.
  • Key expired. The key's end date has passed. Ask your supplier for a current key.
  • Withdrawn. The key has been withdrawn. Contact your supplier.
  • Wrong product. The key is for a different product. Check the email and use the key for Pop Dispatch.
