The Estimates screen lists the shop's estimates with the customer's answer. You will be able to read the lines of an estimate and record an approval.
Before you start #
You need the owner, manager, advisor or technician role. Recording an approval is for the owner, manager and advisor.
Steps #
- Choose Estimates in the sidebar. The Customer answer column shows Waiting for the customer, Approved, Partly approved, Declined or No request yet. Each answer has a word, a symbol and a color.
- Select an estimate to read its lines and total. A declined line is marked.
- When the answer is Waiting for the customer and the customer approves by phone or at the counter, type who approved and choose Approved by phone or Approved in person. The approval is saved with your name and the time.
- To let the customer answer on a phone, use Send to the customer. Choose Email the link after typing the customer's email, or choose Make a link and copy it and send the link yourself. The link works for 14 days.
- Under Links sent for this estimate, read the history of links with the trail of what each link did. The customer approves or declines each line, and the Approved or Declined mark shows on each line. Signed by shows the name they signed with.
- Choose Stop open links to switch off every link that is still open.
If something goes wrong #
- The link needs a public address: set the Public web address in Settings, Business address.
- The buttons are greyed: recording an approval needs the server. They return when this Mac is back online.
- The server says nothing is waiting: the customer already answered through their link. Refresh the list.
